Connaught Sport Horses are very pleased to work closely with Jane and Cameron McLeod who bring a great knowledge of the American market to the team and help things run smoothly  when importing horses for our American clients.

Jane is a very experienced horse woman having spent the formative equestrian years of her life in Ireland hunting, eventing and Show Jumping.  She first came over to the USA when she was just 17 yrs old  and worked for Gerry and Kathy Newman from Upperville VA and had a first experience of the show to beat all shows - Wellington - with them! They mainly kept jumpers and hunters (Gerry was a jockey and originally form Co. Weastmeath and won the Irish Grand National).

She then worked for Frank and Bonnie Cunniffe in South Salem, NY who had hunters, Equitation horses and jumpers. From there she progressed to working with the legendary Olympian Mclain (and Barney) Ward at Castle Hill Farm, Brewster, NY.  She gained huge experience working with these ultimate professionals and utilises so much of what she learnt in her day to day dealings with horses. She was also lucky enough to receive fantastic coaching for her own personal development and lots of travelling.

Her next step to further her career and learning was to Olympic Gold medallist Leslie Howard where she managed her barn for 2 years.

At this point she felt ready to set up her own  training and sales business and moved to Aiken, SC which is where she is now based with her husband Cameron. He has a mainly eventing background having worked for World and Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Davidson and 4* rider Sara Kozumplik.  He also spent time with Tom Voss a steeplechase trainer which honed his skills on the attributes needed by an event horse to really gallop.  He and Jane met when both their equestrian paths bought them to Aitkin!
